Mother’s Day is tomorrow and what a grand holiday it is! Well, I think so. This is my first Mother’s Day as a grandmother! Our first grandbaby was born less than a month ago and what a blessing she is! In the United States, the second Sunday in May is the national holiday to honor mothers and motherhood. This is the day we celebrate mothers, grandmothers, and all who have a strong maternal presence in our lives. While flowers and/or a card are the all time standard, there are many ways to show Mom how much you appreciate all she has done for you. Here are a few ideas.
- Make and serve her breakfast in bed.
- Plan a day out with your mother. This could also include the whole family.
- Take her out to eat. Have her pick her favorite place and let her sit back and enjoy.
- Buy a gift – something you know she really would like to have but would never buy herself.
If you don’t live close, a phone call is a must. Just taking the time to call says so very much, and it will make her day! This year my Mom asked for yellow flowers to put by her back door. That was easy. I just added a whole lot of love!
